The Pitch

Welcome to a little thing we at NAAUC like to call… THE PITCH. Put simply, today's program is going to challenge you to consider all they have learned, identify an issue or area of improvement within your residence, and draft ideas for a new practice or initiative that they take away and implement. The goal is that you will leave today with a tangible and practical plan to help you implement positive change within your residence.

With the help of the NAAUC team, delegates will follow a set framework delivered by the NAAUC team to design a step-by-step solution that will help improve the residential experience. The catch – the NAAUC team will also play “devil’s advocate” and encourage you to think of the challenges your idea may face. By coming up with strategies to counter these problems, NAAUC hopes that implementation back at your residence will become easier.

Although each residence will come up with their own ideas, delegates will then compete against other residences. Delegates will first pitch their ideas to other residences in their State, with the most successful ideas facing off at a National level. It’s important to note that the best idea doesn’t necessarily win. It’s often the most practical and thought-out ideas that tend to be most successful.
